Sleep rhythms and dementia risk link emerges

Texas A&M animal research shows chronic circadian disruption drives microglia into a "stress-primed" inflammatory state that impairs debris clearance and may accelerate cognitive decline. A new Texas A&M Dementia & Alzheimer's Research Initiative seed grant will fund testing of stem cell-derived extracellular vesicles to reverse or blunt this inflammatory shift in preclinical models.
