Multivariate and stability analysis for yield and biochemical traits in radish (Raphanus sativus L.) genotypes from Sikkim Himalaya for functional food applications
Study evaluated 61 radish genotypes from the Sikkim Himalaya under organic cultivation for yield and phytochemical traits, including carotenoids, sugars, antioxidant capacity, and total phenols. Genotypes SR24, SR14, SR50, and SR42 showed superior biochemical composition, while SR56, SR39, and SR41 combined yield stability and high phytochemical levels, identifying candidates for organic functional-food breeding and seed programs.
Why it mattersSikkim genotypes SR56 and SR39 show stable antioxidant and carotenoid profiles, informing seed-selection for organic functional-food supply.
