Japanese startup makes hair follicle regeneration breakthrough

OrganTech and RIKEN identified an accessory mesenchymal cell that, together with epithelial stem and dermal papilla cells, forms a three-cell configuration capable of generating hair follicle organ germs that integrate and sustain cyclic hair growth after transplantation into mice; results published in Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications.
