Antimicrobial effects of novel Hermetia illucens peptides

Black Soldier Fly–derived peptide Hill_BB_C7176 showed broad-spectrum bactericidal activity, membrane permeabilization, strong LPS (lipid A) binding, low cytotoxicity and hemolysis, rapid killing at 8× MIC, and improved survival in Galleria mellonella versus reference antibiotics, supporting further preclinical development as an antimicrobial lead.

Why it mattersHill_BB_C7176 showed broad-spectrum activity and LPS binding, so prioritize mammalian efficacy and toxicology studies.
